Simple and Natural Cloth Wipe Routine For Any Baby

There are numerous reasons to use cloth wipes instead of disposable wipes. For me, the most important was cost, and natural ingredients. This natural cloth wipe routine is simple and will save you a ton of money.

There are a couple ways you can make cloth wipes, this is the method I found to be the easiest.

Before I figured the perfect method, there was some trial and error. Originally, I decided that I was going to make the wipe solution, put in a spray bottle and spray each wipe individually when I needed to use it. That lasted about one diaper change. I quickly released that spraying each wipe was time consuming and when my daughter started rolling I knew it would be very difficult, and once she became a toddler it would be impossible.

I was concerned that the wipes may mold if I put them wet in a container. The wipes are used so quickly, so this was never an issue.

Instead I decided to pre-make the wipes and put them into the wipe dispenser so that they were ready at every diaper change.

So heres what I did..

  1. Boil 2 cups of water
  2. Add a tablespoon of coconut oil (The boiled water helps this melt quickly)
  3. Add a few drops of your baby’s body wash
  4. Fold the wipes and put half of them in the wipe dispenser
  5. Pour half of the solution over the wipes
  6. Repeat the last 2 steps

And that’s it! This natural cloth wipe routine is super simple and you can customize it to meet the needs of your baby. Now that my daughter is a toddler, I use a different body wash. But I stand behind the Dr. Bronner’s, super mild and natural. I do not think you can go wrong with it.

I typically make wipes every 2-3 days. Since we cloth diaper, we throw the wipes in the dirty pail with the diapers. And they are washed every other day.

I have one daughter, so it may be more frequent if you have multiple children in diapers. About 20-25 wipes fit in the dispenser at a time.
