1. Adding texture

For the last couple of years minimalism has been a huge trend in home design. While the minimalism design isn’t going away, adding texture allows you to add more visual interest while keeping your minimal design.

A popular way to achieve this look is through fluted details, whether its on vanities, cabinets or kitchen islands.

2. Warm Neutrals

I think we all know the gray craze is considered out, and warm neutrals are taking its place. While this trend isn’t brand new, it’s expected to stick around.

3.Handmade Features

Whether it is art you create yourself or art you purchase from a small business, curating your space with custom and handmade pieces is in for 2024.

You can also incorporate handmade features by using (or creating) one of a kind tiles, furniture pieces and cabinet hardware.

4. Appliance Garages

Because minimalism is so popular it makes sense people are leaning towards appliance garages. It is a way to create a clutter free look in your kitchen, while also having you your daily appliances within reach.

5. Dark and Moody Colors

Dark and moody vibes are making a comeback. I personally love dark gray and black, but that is not the only way to create a moody space.

I have also seen dark green, burgundy and shades of purple and blue executing the moody trend.

6. Detailed Hardware

Hardware might seem like a small detail, but it can make a major design impact. No matter if the space is small, whether it is a kitchen or bathroom, being intentional about the hardware you use is a great way to add character and your personal style to your home.

7. Curves and Shapes

Softer shapes in furniture and architectural design help you personalize your space. It brings a sense of comfort and playfulness into our homes.

You can use furniture, art work, decor and mirrors to introduce shapes into your home.

8. Personalized and Customized Design

Even in cookie-cutter new construction homes, homeowners are embracing the opportunity to show their unique tastes and preferences in their spaces. There are many way you can personalize your home to create a custom look.

Whether you tackle DIY projects, or hire a professional to help make your dream home become a reality , it is easier (not necessarily cheaper) now than ever to create a space you love.

9. Tech-Integrated Spaces

I am not completely on board with this, but I see the appeal. Lights and temperatures can easily adapt to your preferences from your phone. Having a smart home helps simplify every day tasks with user friendly tech.

10. Spa-Like Bathrooms

This trend is revolutionizing bathroom design by transforming ordinary bathrooms into luxurious spa-like spaces. The thoughtful details really help bring this space together. Mood-enhancing lighting, plush robes, candles, and plants all create an environment that’s functional and relaxing. This trend is more than aesthetics, it’s creating a tranquil spa like space right in your home.

11. At-Home Coffee Stations

This is more than a home trend (& I’d argue it is here to stay for a while). “Cafécore” is a h home trend on Pinterest. Pinterest predicts shows a 1,120% spike in “Coffee bar styling” and a 145% increase in “Coffee station decor” searches between 2021 and 2023. This year, homeowners are adding a touch of café elegance to their daily coffee rituals, turning coffee stations into stylish, focal points in their homes.

12. Dedicated Home Offices

With so many companies deciding to keep their employees remote, or employees deciding to become business owners a home office, or defined work space is a necessity.

Since it isn’t your typical office it’s place you can have fun decorating with and enjoy working in. Get creative and make a space that fun and functional.
