Most people think of Las Vegas as just a party city, and that is simply not true. While it is known for its 24/7 drinking and casinos there are plenty of activities to do in Las Vegas that your toddler will enjoy. If you are planning your next family trip to Las Vegas here are some toddler approved activities that the whole family can enjoy.

Packing snacks and making your toddler comfortable is key to a successful family outing. So before you leave for your next trip make sure to pack plenty of snacks (this snack cup works wonders), plenty of water, a light- weight stroller, and a carrier if you plan on being out all day.
Okay, you’re all packed and ready… so where should you go?
1. The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
Cost: FREE
Distance from strip: On Strip
You can stop at this habitat whether you are a guest at the hotel or not. You can see flamingos, fish and other birds and if you stop by at 8:30am and 2:00pm you can learn more about the wildlife during the “Keeper Talks”.
There are no reservations or tickets required, simply just show up and enjoy the scenery.
2. Craig Ranch Park
Cost: FREE
Distance from Strip: Approximately 19 minutes
This park has literally every thing a family could want, but it is not a quick commute from the Las Vegas Strip. It is approximately 19 minutes away, depending on where you are staying and the traffic.
But I think it is worth the drive. There are multiple sections of the park with various slide sizes, swings and climbing equipment, a splash pad, 2 dog parks, covered pavilions (available for rent), a skate park, an outdoor arena, outdoor workout equipment, tennis courts and paved walking trails (perfect for strollers). There is continuously security strolling the park, and the restrooms are usually pretty clean.
You could easily spend the entire day here, or at least until nap time.
3. Van Gogh Exhibit at Aria
Cost: Varies on time and day
Distance from strip: On Strip
This experience can be pricey depending on when you go, but it will definitely be a good time for everyone. It is a large open room, with very little your toddler can get into.
It is a 35 minute show of photos, lights and music that projects on the wall and floor. This toddler approved event is said to change to different exhibits in the future, so make sure to check out the current show.
Your toddler will have fun viewing the show and having freedom to roam, and you will be able to snag a cute photo in the process.
4. Container Park in Downtown Fremont
Cost: FREE
Distance from Strip: Approximately 11 minutes
Container park is free to enter and has a large tree house, that is toddler and adult friendly and a variety of small shops and restaurants. There is also a (turf) grass area with life size legos, swings, a stage and a chalk board.
The park is kid-friendly until 9 pm!

5. Ethel M Chocolate Factory & Cactus Garden
Cost: FREE
Distance from Strip: Approximately 10 minutes (there are multiple locations)
Start with a self-guided tour through the chocolate factory to see how the chocolate is made. You can get a free sample and then grab a treat at the end of the tour.
Then you can walk through the botanical cactus garden. If you are visiting during Christmas you can check out the Christmas lights, grab some hot coco and see Santa as well. There is a small fee during the holidays.
6. Spring Preserve | Nevada State Museum
Cost: FREE for children under 2, $4.95 ages 3-17, $9.95 for adults
Distance from Strip: Approximately 11 minutes
There are so many things to enjoy at the Spring preserve. The exhibits and activities change, so be sure to check out what is happening before you go!
There is a restaurant (with a great city view and vegan options), park, train ride, walking trail, splash pad, and animal exhibits.
Personally, this is one of my favorite places to go and if you are local to the area you should consider a membership if you plan to go often.
Although these activities are toddler approved, they can definitely be enjoyed by kids, teens and adults as well.
The distance to these locations will vary depending on where you are staying on the strip, the time of day and traffic, but in less than 20 minutes you can get to any of these locations and enjoy an activity with your toddler!
I hope you enjoy your vacation in the Sin City!
