Everything you NEED to know about cloth diapers to get started

Types of Cloth Diapers

Modern cloth diapers come in a variety of options, styles and colors. A bonus to cloth diapering is you can customize the absorbency. But before you choose let’s discuss the types of cloth diapers and inserts, and what parents like most about them.

1. Prefolds and Flats
Prefolds and flats are the old school cloth diapers. They allow you to fold them to your desired shape and easily customize the absorbency. They require a waterproof cover to go over them. They are inexpensive, versatile and easy to clean.

2. Fitted Diapers
Fitted diapers are similar to disposables in fit and shape. They are very absorbent and great for overnight.

3. Pocket Diapers
Pocket diapers are usually one-size fits all and grow with your baby. They are made of a waterproof cover and a polyester lining that allows you to choose an insert to stuff inside of the diaper. They are easy to fasten on baby, do not require a cover.

4. All in one diapers
All in one diaper is one diaper with two sewn in layers inside of a waterproof cover. The extra absorbency makes this diaper good for overnight and they are typically less bulky than other brands.

5. Hybrid diapers (sometimes referred to as All in two)
Hybrid diapers typically have a cloth cover and disposable insert, however cloth inserts can be used as well.
